It instantly popped up and said "New hardware found. So just now, as a test, I dug out my new D610 and hot-plugged in the floppy from my D600. I also have a brand new D610 which did not come with a floppy. This is required anytime you need to have the CDROM and floppy installed at the same time. The USB port is used in conjunction with a short cable to plug into a standard USB port. On the back it has the standard modular port connector and on the side (left, rear) it has a tiny USB port (small one that resembles IEEE1394 port).
